چکیده
To determine the effect of preoperative duration Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS)-associated symptoms on clinical outcomes at a minimum five years after hip arthroscopy. FAIS patients who underwent primary arthroscopy between January 2012 and 2014 had five-year follow-up were identified. Patient demographics Hip Outcome Score-Activities Daily Living (HOS-ADL), HOS-Sports Subscale (HOS-SS), modified Harris score (mHHS), pain, satisfaction analyzed. The minimal clinically important difference (MCID), patient acceptable symptomatic state (PASS), substantial benefit (SCB) calculated. Patients stratified based greater than or equal to two years. Multivariate regressions constructed association symptom A total 310 included with mean (+- standard deviation) age 34.1+-11.9 BMI 25.3+-5.1 kg/m2. All demonstrated statistically significant improvements in HOS-ADL, HOS-SS, mHHS, pain scores (p<0.001 all). Preoperative was an independent predictor worse HOS-ADL (beta:-5.5, p=0.041), HOS-SS (beta:-12.1, p=0.006), mHHS (beta:-9.6, p=0.011), (beta:9.6, p=0.023) scores. Furthermore, longer associated lower likelihood achieving MCID for (Odds ratio [OR] = 0.53, p=0.037), (OR=0.38, p=0.003), (OR=0.43, p=0.009); PASS (OR=0.44, p=0.006) (OR=0.46, but not despite trending towards significance (OR=0.59, p=0.098); SCB (OR=0.50, (OR=0.52, p=0.020) (OR=0.47, p=0.007). FAIS-associated prior experience frequency outcome improvement medium long term follow-up.

Patients with a workers' compensation claim have been shown to have inferior outcomes after various orthopedic procedures. In hip arthroscopy, good to excellent results have been shown in the athletic and prearthritic population in short-term and long-term follow-up. In the current study, the authors' hypothesis was that patients with a workers' compensation claim would have inferior outcomes a...

UNLABELLED An unknown percentage of patients who have internal fixation for hip fractures have sciatic neuropathy develop. In most cases, the cause for this complication is unknown. We retrospectively reviewed 2202 consecutive patients treated in our hospital for hip fractures to ascertain whether there was any relationship between duration of preoperative traction and postoperative sciatic neu...
